Carrier HVAC in Seattle, CA | Dalton Heating & Air

Dalton Heating & Air provides independent Carrier HVAC service throughout Seattle, WA. We’re not a Carrier-authorized dealer, and we won’t pretend to be. What we are is a crew that has worked on Carrier furnaces, heat pumps, and AC units across Seattle for years, from 1920s Craftsman houses in Ballard to newer builds out toward Northgate. The one thing that makes our Carrier work here different is that we know how Seattle’s damp, heating-heavy climate wears on Carrier equipment specifically. Call (361) 306-9515 when your Carrier system acts up.

Why Seattle Residents Choose Us for Carrier Service

Carrier builds solid equipment, but every brand has quirks. The Infinity line’s communicating thermostats and control boards are particular about voltage and moisture. The WeatherMaker furnaces have heat exchangers that fatigue after enough Seattle heating seasons. Our technicians know these systems because we’re inside them daily, not reading a manual on the way to your door. Marco Benitez, our owner and lead technician, learned the trade at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College and has spent over twenty years diagnosing HVAC problems across the West Coast. He’s the one who trained our crew to treat every Carrier call as a diagnostic puzzle, not a parts-swap job.

We carry OEM Carrier control boards, ignitors, and heat exchangers for the common failures we see in Seattle. We also stock quality aftermarket capacitors and contactors when they meet or beat OEM specs. The point is speed: when your furnace quits in February, you don’t want to wait a week for a part to ship. And every repair we do comes with a written guarantee for a full year. If the same repair fails in that time, we come back at no charge. That’s the Garrison Standard, and it’s been how we operate since 2003.

Common Carrier HVAC Problems We Solve in Seattle

  • Infinity control board corrosion and thermostat errors. Seattle’s indoor air carries more moisture than most cities, and condensation finds its way onto circuit boards inside Carrier Infinity units. We get calls for erratic zoning, blank thermostats, and random error codes that trace back to a corroded board. It’s a repair you can’t patch with a capacitor; the board usually needs replacement.
  • Clogged condensate traps and drain lines on Carrier furnaces. Carrier’s negative-pressure furnace design pulls air through the cabinet, and during Seattle’s wet season that air carries pollen, mold spores, and fine debris. The condensate trap clogs, water backs up, and the furnace locks out for safety. We clean the trap, clear the drain, and the system runs again.
  • Failed capacitors and contactors in Carrier AC and heat pump units. Seattle’s summers are mild but humid, and units near Green Lake, Ravenna, or any tree-heavy neighborhood collect moisture and pests inside the electrical compartment. A failed capacitor is the most common no-cool call we run in July and August. It’s a $15 part that takes down a $4,000 system when it goes.
  • Heat exchanger cracks in older Carrier WeatherMaker furnaces. Seattle’s heating season runs October through May. That’s seven to eight months a year of continuous flame exposure on the heat exchanger. The metal expands and contracts thousands of times, and on 15- to 20-year-old WeatherMakers, cracks form. This is a safety issue, not a comfort issue. We’ll show you the crack on camera before recommending replacement.
  • Greenspeed heat pump communication failures. Carrier’s Greenspeed systems use a proprietary communicating protocol between the outdoor unit, indoor air handler, and thermostat. A loose wire, a corroded terminal, or a failing sensor breaks the communication loop and the system throws codes that generic techs often misdiagnose. We’ve rebuilt these loops enough times to know exactly where to look.

Carrier Service in Seattle: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the thing nobody tells you when you buy a Carrier system in Seattle: this city is a heating market, not a cooling market. Your furnace or heat pump runs seven to eight months out of the year, and that changes what wears out. A Carrier furnace in Phoenix might rack up 400 hours of run time in a year. The same furnace in Seattle easily logs 1,500 to 2,000 hours. The heat exchanger, the inducer motor, the pressure switches, the ignitor: all of them age faster here, simply because they’re on more. Marco puts it this way: “Tell me what the system is doing and what the house feels like – that’s usually enough to know where to start.”

That’s also why we tune Carrier systems differently in Seattle. A standard tune-up in a cooling-dominant city focuses on coils and refrigerant pressure. In Seattle, the heating-side components deserve the attention: checking the heat exchanger for cracks, testing the inducer motor bearings, verifying the pressure switch operation, cleaning the burners and flame sensor. If your Carrier tune-up doesn’t include those heating checks, it’s not a Seattle tune-up.

Carrier Models & Products We Service in Seattle

We service the full Carrier residential lineup. That includes Infinity models like the 24ANB7 and 24ANB1 air conditioners, the 25HNB6 heat pump, and Infinity furnaces. We work on Performance series equipment: the 24ACC6 and 24ACB7 AC units and 58TP0 furnaces. Comfort series 24ABB3 AC and 58SB0 furnaces are common in Seattle’s older homes where a budget-friendly replacement made sense. And when we see Greenspeed heat pumps like the 25VNA0 or the 24VNA9 AC, we know the communicating loop inside those units better than most shops.

For parts, our rule is simple: Carrier control boards, ignitors, and heat exchangers get OEM replacements because Infinity and Greenspeed systems won’t reliably run on generic boards. Capacitors and contactors are different; we’ll use a quality aftermarket brand when it meets or exceeds the Carrier spec. We keep the most common Carrier parts stocked on our trucks, which shortens repair time across Seattle.
