Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know how a condenser coil works on day one. That’s not the starting line for a Dalton Heating & Air franchise. The starting line is this: you can run a business, you can talk to people, and you’ll follow a system. We’ve spent the years since 2003 building the training structure so that someone who’s never touched a heat pump can still open a location that runs like it’s been operating for ten years. The trade skills, the software, the hiring playbook, the local marketing engine. That all comes from us. Your job is to bring the discipline and the willingness to learn. Every Dalton location works to The Garrison Standard, and we’ll make sure you know exactly what that means before your first service call ever goes out.
Initial Training
The first phase runs before you ever put your name on a truck. You’ll spend time learning the operating side: how we schedule, how we price, how we answer the phone at 3 a.m., and how the written-price rule works in practice. No exceptions, ever. You’ll get the basics of residential HVAC the way a business owner needs them, not the way a technician does. We teach you how the equipment works, what the nine major brands we service have in common and what makes each one different, and how to speak to a homeowner about a failed compressor without drowning them in jargon. Then comes the software. Our dispatch platform, our customer records system, and the reporting that shows you where every dollar goes. We also cover hiring: how to find technicians who fit The Garrison Code, what to ask in interviews, and how to background-check properly. Finally, you’ll learn the local marketing playbook. Everything from getting your Google listing right to running your first service-area campaign. Marco Benitez, who leads Dalton Heating & Air, still says the same thing to every new owner: the training isn’t about making you a technician. It’s about making sure you never sound like you don’t know what your crew is doing.
Launch Support
Opening day isn’t a soft opening. We help you set up your local marketing before the doors open so that the phone actually rings in week one. That means your web presence, your local service pages, your review strategy, and your initial advertising budget all get built with the Dalton playbook behind them. We don’t hand you a PDF and walk away. A launch coach works with you directly through the first jobs, from the first inbound call to the first written estimate to the first follow-up when a repair needs a second visit under warranty. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means we have a process for when things go wrong, and you’ll walk through that before it happens, not after. Pricing gets rehearsed. The call script gets rehearsed. Even the way your first technician introduces himself at the door. By the time your first homeowner calls, you’ll know how to respond, how to quote, and how to close. And if the first job goes sideways, someone who’s done this before is one phone call away.
Ongoing Support
Support doesn’t end at launch. Here’s what continues month after month:
- Field coaching: Regular check-ins with a business coach who reviews your numbers, your call volume, your close rate, and your warranty claims. They help you fix what’s broken before it costs you real money.
- Marketing support: We keep your local campaigns running, update your market strategy as the seasons shift, and provide new creative for your service area. No reinventing the wheel every spring or fall.
- Vendor relationships: Dalton Heating & Air has established supply chains for parts and equipment across all nine brands we service: Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard. You get access to those relationships from day one.
- Technology updates: As our dispatch and CRM tools improve, yours improve. You’re not stuck with the software version you launched on.
- National brand campaigns: Garrison Partners runs brand-level marketing that benefits every Dalton location. You get the lift without having to build a national strategy yourself.
- Peer network: Dalton owners talk to other Dalton owners. You’ll have access to a network of people running the same playbook in different markets, sharing what’s working and what isn’t.
